A Sea Dogs Celebration: Commemorating 3Rivers’ First Year
Westbrook, Maine – On July 1st, more than 100 people supported by 3Rivers, along with staff and special guests, headed to Hadlock Field for a day of baseball, ballpark food, and first-anniversary fun.
The Portland Sea Dogs gave everyone plenty to cheer for, including a win for the home team. It may have been a hot noon game, but that did not stop the celebration. Guests cooled off when they could, enjoyed the picnic area, and made quick work of the Sea Dogs’ biscuits, hot dogs, Italian ice, and other ballpark favorites.
People came from all over the state, from Island Falls and Patten to Portland and nearby communities, making the day feel like a true 3Rivers family reunion. About 50 friends from our sister agency, Community Living Association in Houlton, also joined, adding even more energy, smiles, and familiar faces to the celebration.
Thanks to fundraising dollars, admission was covered for everyone, and the outing brought people together to celebrate in a relaxed and joyful way.
Staff from across the organization were invited, and people supported by 3Rivers from every region were represented.
As 3Rivers looks back on its first year, the Sea Dogs outing reminded us that the best celebrations are about more than the event itself. They are about being together, making connections, and creating moments where everyone belongs. Seeing people from across Maine come together to cheer, laugh, and enjoy the day was a perfect way to celebrate what 3Rivers is all about.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for the day at the ballpark. We could not have asked for a better way to kick off year two!
